UniTech, by invitation, hosted a DISCUSSION FORUM for the British Transport Police to assess the scope and capability of Microsoft’s SharePoint technology as a means to creating improved citizen services, improved support of the force and to deliver reduced costs across the organisation. Key driver functions which caught their imagination were the simplicity to centralise documents, manage records processing, generate and structure ad-hoc information, the capacity for team/enterprise and external collaboration activities and also host the use of electronic forms for a reduction in paper-based processing.

On Friday 26^th March a team of 9 attendees, including 2 senior executives, complimented UniTech on the detailed insight into the power and flexibility of Microsoft SharePoint. The recognition of the culture change, behaviour requirements, process and readiness assessments were also warmly received: technology enables improvements but it’s the people who must deliver. A full Envisioning Workshop is now being planned.
